About the team
As part of the Global Collection & Merchandise Planning Team, you will be responsible for driving the business with a consumer-centric approach creating the right product offer, in the right quantities, at the right time at the various points of sale for the assigned head group.
You will be the team's go-to person regarding market insights - being responsible for identifying customer preferences and forecasting consumer trends in close contact with markets and global counterparts.
The team consists of 7 people where you report to the Head of Global Collection & Merchandise Planning. Together we work towards the vision of creating a global assortment and collection plan to support GANT´s overarching goals and brand vision - giving the consumer the right product at the right time at the right place.
Responsibilities
Assortment planning
Responsible for building the seasonal merchandise assortments (bottom-up plans) for assigned lines and ensuring the plan reconciles with top-line financial plan.
Define merchandise life-cycle management strategies to optimize inventory for key peak periods.
Incorporate the estimated impact of seasonal marketing stories, initiatives, and key consumer moments into plans. Ensuring the right balance between brand drivers and volume drivers.
Market insightsWorking in close collaboration with markets to gather key insights on the competitive landscape and define market needs.
Set seasonal assortment strategy supported by market analysis through regular visits, reviews of competitor pricing, offers and trends.
Analysis
Develop and execute assortment analytics and reporting for categories.
Review product performance to maximize future sales and find new business opportunities.
Cross functional responsibilitySecure commercial presence in the collection, working in close collaboration with collection planning and product teams along the collection development process.
Work across the sales channels to secure commercial needs.
Your skills
Bachelor's Degree in business, economics, fashion or equivalent
3-5 years Retail Assortment & or merchandising experience
Experience with planning and assortment building within retail and/or wholesale
Strong organizational and time management skills
Great communication skills, verbal and written.
Working knowledge of the fashion industry in conjunction with different channels of distribution.
Strong analytical skills to follow up on performance and to find new sales opportunities. You have the ability to turn data into meaningful actions.
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, adapt to change and maintain composure under pressure.
Flexible with a confident attitude and solution oriented mindset.
Proficient in EXCEL and relevant planning programs, as well as Microsoft applications.
Fluent in English, written and spoken
