Head of Demand Planning

About the team

As part of the Planning and Merchandise Team, you will be responsible for making sure that the company’s operations are timely, efficient, and cost-effective. You will report to Global Planning and Merchandise Director. Together we work towards the vision of becoming cost-effincent and to meet our customers demands of products. 

Your Responsibilities 

  • Main responsible for the global multi- channel demand plan 
  • Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns
  • Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
  • Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations 
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies
  • Conduct monthly forecast maintenance
  • Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Overseeing top-down pre-season financial targets and sales channels forecast to support merchandising initiatives
  • Lead monthly forecast review meetings for assigned customers and products, ensure sales and marketing involvement
  • Develop ad-hoc analytical reports to meet the changing needs of the business
  • Consolidation of all demand from the business and communicate with the Sourcing department

Your skills

  • Bachelor's Degree within merchandising or economics
  • 5-7 years of experience in a forecasting/planning analyst role 
  • A clear understanding of financial measurements which could include: sales, gross margin, gross margin return on investment, weeks on hand, weeks of supply, etc. and how to positively impact these metrics
  • Experience with inventory management, shrink and profit margins
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
  • Working knowledge of the fashion industry in conjunction with different channels of distribution
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; computer proficient with Microsoft applications
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, adapt to change and maintain composure under pressure 
  • Strong systems understanding
  • Excellent in Excel
  • Fluently in English written and spoken
